Chinese Medicine Clinics cum Training and Research Centres
To promote the professional development and manpower training for Chinese medicine (CM) in Hong Kong, Chinese Medicine Clinics cum Training and Research Centres (CMCTRs) have been established in all 18 districts across the city. They are operated by Hospital Authority, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and local universities under a tripartite collaboration model, with daily operation undertaken by the respective NGOs. The CMCTRs were repositioned in March 2020 to provide Government-subsidised CM outpatient services at the district level in addition to their original functions of teaching and research (i.e. provide training and conduct research projects, etc.). Meanwhile, CMCTRs have also continued providing non-government-subsidised CM services (such as “Tian Jiu”, expert consultations, etc.) to offer more service options for the public members.
